In the wilderness Jesus faced the temptation to define Himself by worldly influence and power, David had to decide what kind of king he would ultimately be, and the Israelites had to shed their slave mentality to walk in their sonship.
God uses the wilderness to shape our identity and reveal who we were created to be.
