Week 5: Breaking Point “Convictions Over Passions
Last week, we learned that there is life and death in the power of the tongue which often leads to dissension within the community. So how do we make sure that what we speak brings life?
In order to do this, we need to make sure that our words and our actions are inspired not by selfish passion but by heavenly conviction. Dissension within the community comes from our evil desires at war with God’s spirit within ourselves. So when we are able to dismiss our evil desires, and instead humble ourselves before the Lord, seeking his wisdom above all else, our community can become united in faith and in truth.
